Andy's March 87C

Steve Chassey's 1987 Indy ride...qualified 33rd (at over 202 mph) and ran as high as 13th before the engine exploded. Owned by Lydia Laughrey and almost sold to Spike Gelhausen in 1988. The deal fell through after he crashed the car in practice. From there it was sold to Gary Trout who repaired it and later used it for Buddy Lazier's rookie test. From there it went to Bill Tempero then to Chuck Haynes then to Andy in 2000. This car is now FOR SALE at a price that is more than 30% below what it would cost to reproduce!

Huey Absalom and Steve Chassey - deep in thought. Huey was also Jim Clark's crew chief at the Speedway and his cars have won at least 3 pole positions.
